COAPB wins the Australian Pipe Band Championships!

On 2nd November 2008 The City of Adelaide pipe band won first place at the Australian Pipe Band Championships in Castle Hill, Sydney in a day that turned out to be a very successful "day at the office". The band had a clean sweep of the boards, with:

  • 1st in the Piping, Drumming & Ensemble in the MSR
  • 1st in the Piping, Drumming & Ensemble in the Medley
  • 1st in Dress & Drill
Because of this, a feat which no other band accomplished on the day, the City of Adelaide Pipe Band was awarded the "best band on the day" award as well. Thanks go to all those who made the leadup, and the trip as successful as it was.


 

Festival Interceltique de Lorient

The City of Adelaide Pipe Band performed over ten days in July/August 2006 at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient in Brittany, France. The band was invited to play in what was the "Year of Australia" at the world's largest Celtic festival. The festival is held annually and attracts crowds of around 700,000 spectators who are entertained by 4,500 performers at hundreds of events including concerts, street parades, cabarets, and the very popular Nuits Magiques (Magic Nights).
